Week 12 agenda:Technology issues & E-portfolio projects

Before class:

2. If you'd like to get started earlier for the last project, you can gather materials you'd like to include in your website, create materials (such as resume and other statements), or explore Google Sites!
3. If you want to make changes on your multimedia project based on the feedback you received, you can do so and upload to Oncourse resources by Thanksgiving. Then send me an email. Thanks.
4. Upload your multimedia project reflection to Oncourse w301 Dropbox OR update your e-portfolio plan on Oncourse w301 wiki by NOV 24th.

week 11 agenda: multimedia project presentations

Before class:
Upload your project to Oncourse W301 Resources --> Multimedia --> Group Folder
If you produced a video or podcast, please export the file by selecting "publish (windows movie maker)", "share (mac iMovie or GarageBand)", or "export (Audacity)." It usually takes about 3 - 10 minutes to convert your files into a movie or audio clip. Please upload your audio or video to your group folder on Oncourse W301 Resources.

If your project is a blog, wiki, or a discussion forum, you can upload the URL of your site to Oncourse W301 Resouces.

(1) introduce the target audience, purpose (or objectives) of the video/ podcast/ blog/ wiki, lessons you attempt to convey
(2) show us the product

Guiding questions:
You can pick 3-4 from the list; you don't need to cover all of them.
* what was your most interesting experience from the project?
* what was the difficulty when you worked on the project? How did you overcome it?
* what did you learn from the project?
* how did the scaffoldings (the tutorial website, your instructor, your classmates, IT people, other people, or other materials) help you?
* what were the parts of the final product that you would like to improve? how would you do differently next time?
* (required question) will you have your students conduct their own multimedia production projects in the near future? what might be some interesting topics/ ideas for kids' multimedia production project? what might you do differently for guiding your students to complete the multimedia production projects? If you worked on a blog or wiki project, how would you use a blog with your students or parents?

week 10 agenda: Group work (no official class meeting)

No official class meeting this week Week of Nov 3. Please meet with your group members and finalize the project.

The final project is due Week 11. Week of Nov 10th. The final product should be around 3-5 minutes. You will make a presentation in class -- introduce your target audience, the choice of the content, the purpose of the video/ podcast/ blog/ wiki/ others, show your final product, and answer questions.

After you finish the project, please upload the final product to the group folder on Oncourse W301 Resources. You may want to test downloading files and playing in another computer before the presentation. If your product is a blog or a wiki, you can upload the URL to the group folder. The grading criteria is on the Eva instruction page (link here - Tue section; Wed/ thur sections)

The tutorial websites and job aids can be found on the Eva instruction page as well. Please let me know if you have questions or need help. I will be out of town from Nov 5 to Nov 8 but I will check my email and we can schedule short meetings for any last minute help after I come back from the conference.
